Christopher uses a four-step F2 Ultra workflow for his pendant designs.

He begins with a depth map, traces the design and working paths in Adobe Illustrator, engraves the detail on the xTool F2 Ultra, and cuts out the pendant. His close-up photographs show the relief and cut edges across cross designs and a three-dog boat pendant.

Start with the depth map

Christopher begins with a depth map for the pendant design. It is the visual source he carries into the preparation stage before engraving.

Trace the design in Illustrator

He uses Adobe Illustrator to trace the design and prepare clean working paths, including the outline that will define the finished pendant shape.

Engrave the detail

The prepared design moves to the xTool F2 Ultra for engraving. The close photographs show the finished relief and small decorative details.

Cut out the pendant

After the engraved face is complete, Christopher cuts the outside shape to free the pendant from the surrounding stock.
