How We Calculate "True Cost"

This calculator uses verified technical data to estimate the hidden costs of operating digital fabrication machinery.

1. Depreciation

We track the lifespan of consumables (like CO2 tubes or Hotends) and amortize their replacement cost over their rated hours.

2. Power Draw

We use real-world wattage data (not just label ratings) to calculate electricity usage based on your local kWh rate.

3. Maintenance

We add a small "Buffer" percentage to account for lenses, belts, grease, and other minor consumables.
