Choose a Filament for the Job the Part Has to Do

A drill jig and a soft machine foot can both be functional parts. That does not make the same filament right for both. Describe the work first, then check the exact product and printer requirements.

The short answer

There is no single best filament for every functional part. A crisp indoor jig, a workshop clamp, an outdoor cover, a flexible bumper, and a heat-stressed fixture ask for different properties and printer requirements.
