Dry filament at the temperature and for the time specified by its manufacturer. Prusa’s current chart for the six Prusament materials covered here runs from 45 °C for PLA/rPLA to 90 °C for PA11-CF. The dryer comparison adds official records for the SUNLU FilaDryer S2 and S4 Pro, Polymaker PolyDryer, Creality SpacePi X4, EIBOS Polyphemus, Sovol SH03, and PrintDry PRO4, while preserving each manufacturer’s caveats.

How to tell if filament may be wet

Choose the symptoms you see. The same problems can come from slicer settings, the nozzle, or the feed path, so compare the same print before and after drying.

Keep the file, profile, printer, orientation, and filament the same. Dry the spool using the manufacturer’s cycle, then compare the result. If nothing improves, check the nozzle, profile, feed path, and printer.

A maximum setting answers only one question. Airflow, sensor position, spool size, room conditions, and temperature uniformity still change the result.

Polymaker says one temperature cannot represent the whole box, so this guide will not convert the published 68–73 °C range into a fixed comparison ceiling.

SUNLU S2: check the 70 °C limit before you buy

SUNLU lists the FilaDryer S2 at a maximum of 70 °C. That reaches the lower-temperature references on this page, but not the 80–90 °C Prusament cycles shown for ASA, PC Blend, and PA11-CF.

After drying

Store dry filament in a sealed container with desiccant

Prusa recommends closed storage with desiccant, especially for materials that absorb moisture quickly. A dry box helps keep a dry spool dry, but it does not replace the manufacturer’s active drying cycle for a wet spool.
