The chest opens a new part of the game
Stern’s motorized Treasure Chest Topper alternates between treasure and a tooth-filled Mimic. The significant addition is in the game: Stern says it unlocks Mimic Mania and Rowan Freewander, a Fighter character with Add-A-Ball during Multiball and speech by Brendon Small. That makes this a gameplay purchase as well as a visual accessory.
The official listing says collecting TREASURE CHEST letters unlocks Mimic Mania, with progress carrying between games and players. Those are Stern’s descriptions of the behavior, not our play-test findings. We have not installed the topper, played its added content, or tested accessory compatibility. Ask for the installation and software requirements for your exact machine before committing. The official shop showed back-order and contact-for-availability notices as of September 27; confirm timing before ordering.
Separate the game content from the cabinet trim
The rest of the announced line serves different jobs. Stern lists a D20 shooter knob at $199.99, side armor at $349.99, art blades at $99.99, and speaker lighting at $199.99 for Pro and Premium models. The release covers the Pro, Premium, and Limited Edition machine family, but that does not mean every accessory fits every edition. Check each item’s stated fit rather than applying the topper’s description to the whole range.
Before making a decision: The topper’s $1,799.99 price needs its own decision. If the new mode and character are the attraction, read how they unlock before choosing decorative additions. If the cabinet appearance is your priority, compare the individual accessories without assuming they include the topper’s content. Price an installed, delivered purchase with your seller; the announcement’s MSRP excludes applicable taxes.
- Does the topper’s added mode and character matter enough to you to justify the hardware cost?
- Has the seller confirmed your edition, installation needs, and delivery date?
Wait if:You need immediate delivery, do not own the supported physical machine, or still need installation and software requirements confirmed.
Consider it if:You own the matching Stern machine and value the stated gameplay additions after checking fit, delivered cost, and availability.
