Frequently Asked Questions

How do you choose which products to review?

I review tools I actually use in my projects. Most are purchased with my own money. Some are provided by manufacturers, but that never influences my opinion—I'll tell you if something doesn't work.

What's the difference between laser, CNC, and 3D printing?

Lasers use focused light to cut and engrave (ideal for wood, acrylic, leather). CNC uses spinning bits to carve material (best for precise joinery and metal). 3D printers build objects layer by layer from plastic filament or resin. Each has its place in a hybrid workshop.

Do I need expensive equipment to start making?

No. A quality diode laser or entry-level 3D printer can produce professional results. Start with fundamentals, learn the workflows, then upgrade when you hit the limits of your tools.

Which brands do you recommend?

For CO2 lasers, I use the xTool P2S daily—excellent software and support. For 3D printing, the Bambu Lab P2S is my go-to for reliability. For CNC, the Makera Z1 shows promise with AI-assisted workflows. But every brand has duds—always check specific model reviews.
