Bambu Lab tools and guides

Bambu Lab centers its ecosystem on desktop 3D printing, with printer families, filaments, design and slicing software, a mobile app, model sharing, and project components. Selected H2 configurations extend that workflow to laser engraving and cutting, digital cutting, and pen plotting alongside additive manufacturing. The R1 is Bambu's first standalone laser, a separate enclosed CO2 cutter and engraver.

Tools and processes: 3D printing · Multi-material printing · Laser engraving & cutting · Digital cutting · Pen plotting

  • Bambu Lab · Fixture Harbor

    P2S

The P2S used in our workshop makes daily fixtures, brackets, organizers, and prototypes when an enclosed desktop printer fits the job. Its limits still matter: it is not large format and it does not have an actively heated chamber.

    Evidence: Owned and used here

  • Bambu Lab · Enclosure Pass

    P1S

P1S is the alternative for a buyer who wants an enclosed Bambu and finds it meaningfully below P2S. The comparison keeps its older controls, monitoring, extrusion, and hotend-service experience visible.

Evidence: Official specs; not owner tested

  • Bambu Lab · Openbed Expanse

    A2L

A2L is the large open-frame choice for PLA or PETG props, decor, classroom work, and batches. Its craft expansion is cutting or plotting; Bambu does not present this open machine as a laser option.

    Evidence: Official launch information

  • Bambu Lab · Vortek Range

    H2C

H2C uses separate hotends for several colors or materials and adds active chamber heat. Our guide also covers the separate Laser Full Combo configurations; check which equipment is included in the setup you are considering.

Evidence: Official information; not owner tested

  • Bambu Lab · Kerf Canyon

    R1 laser

Bambu's first standalone laser: an enclosed CO2 cutter for wood and acrylic, including clear, run from Bambu Suite. It's Class 1 enclosed and Class 4 with riser or conveyor. Its guide takes every R1 price and spec from Bambu; no R1 has been tested here. Need clear acrylic, thicker cuts or long stock, or would an H2 laser module do?

A four-model Bambu guide

Which Bambu Lab printer fits your workshop?

This guide compares the P2S, P1S, A2L, and H2C. It is not the full Bambu catalog, and it does not use live price, stock, or commissions to choose a result.

Use the fit picker
Quick answer

The P2S is the owner-used default for everyday enclosed jigs, fixtures, brackets, and prototypes. Consider the P1S when a meaningful discount outweighs its older controls, the A2L for larger PLA or PETG work, and the H2C only when active chamber heat or dedicated tool paths are part of the job.

Common Bambu questions

Which Bambu 3D printer is the best fit for a hybrid workshop?

The P2S is the strongest default for everyday enclosed shop work because The Crafty Catsman owns and uses it. Choose A2L when large PLA or PETG parts drive the purchase, P1S when a meaningfully lower current price justifies the older platform, and H2C when active chamber heat or dedicated tool paths are essential.

Why add a 3D printer to a laser, UV, or CNC shop?

A 3D printer can make jigs, alignment stops, vacuum adapters, brackets, trays, test fixtures, and replacement parts that make other workshop machines faster and more repeatable. The best first machine is usually the one that removes a recurring setup bottleneck.

Does the fit picker rank every Bambu printer?

No. It compares only the P2S, P1S, A2L, and H2C using your three answers. It does not compare the full market or use live prices or commissions.

Are all of these Bambu printers tested by The Crafty Catsman?

No. Only the P2S is owner tested. The P1S comparison uses official specifications and P2S owner experience. The A2L and H2C guides use official manufacturer information and state what has not been verified through long-term use.
